TerraZen Centre, Amsterdam
We almost didn't find this place; it was down a nondescript street and looked like the front of someones house. Actually, the inside was like someones house as well.
Anyway, boy are we glad we did find it as it was truly an original experience. It's family-owned biz and that shows. Everything about this place is the opposite of a big, chain-like restaurant. There is a communal table that guests sit at as well as a sofa with a coffee table that is used as dining space. I suppose I'd equate it with a dive bar but in restaurant form. If you're looking for a posh, trendy, and fancy-ass place this is not the restaurant for you. If you're up for meeting some new people and trying out some unique food then give it a try.
The food is a blend of Japanese and Caribbean and changes according to whatever the cooks want to make I'm guessing. They source their ingredients locally whenever possible and the meals are all 100% vegan. Check out their Facebook page *here* for a bunch of photos.
