Beanfields Nacho Chips
Well, well, well. I think I may have finally found a reasonable replacement for Dorito chips. Oh, happy day these Beanfields chips are really good!
The husband was a bit dubious about the “bean” portion of the chips, but he came around once he tried the chips :-) He says that they do a remarkable job of replicating nacho-style Doritos and I quite agree. Even the way the seasoning clings to the chips and the smell of them is very reminiscent of Doritos.
We both also agree, however, that the chips could be a bit sturdier as they pretty easily broke when we gorged ourselves on them with a side of guac that I made with several of the teeny-tiniest avocados I’ve ever seen. So, lesson is, be a bit careful when loading these bad boys up with heavy guac… The nacho flavoring is slightly spicy with a medium intensity cheesiness. There are definitely some background spices that are a bit smoky as well. I think the one thing that is lacking is salt I just want them to be a tad saltier...
Actually, I would also like the chips to be a bit spicier but I suppose that’s what the Jalapeno flavor is for ;-) And, though I’m sure some would say that it would be overkill, I definitely think that these would be really good with a nacho cheese dipping sauce ;-) ALL THE CHEESE!
